We are bringing our wonderful staff and shucking table and will be serving up the best of Drakes Bay oysters on the half-shell as well as BBQ oysters with our own special sauce.

The folks behind Drakes Bay Family Farms are the Lunny Family, now in their fourth generation of oyster farming. The whole operation is a family affair. Drakes Bay Oyster Company is currently run by the three Lunny brothers: Joseph, Kevin and Bob. Their sister Ginny said the whole family, include parents Joe and Joan are very excited to be a part of the Marin Art Festival.

According to Ginny, Drakes Bay Oysters is the only shellfish farm within the Pt. Reyes National Seashore, where a small, protected and undeveloped watershed surrounds the property. Their farm contains California’s finest shellfish water quality which is why they are the only farm in California allowed to harvest year-round. The waters of Drakes Estero give our oysters the “taste of their place”!

The Lunny family farms provide jobs, housing, and income to many locals, and are a significant part of the history and diversity of this thriving agricultural community. In celebration of the workers at Drakes Bay Oysters, there will be a photo exhibit by acclaimed Point Reyes photographer, Evvy Eisen at the Marin Art Festival. Eisen’s work illustrates a connection between the people involved and the community they serve, putting a human face on what has become abstract and theoretical. Two of her captivating photos are shown above. .
